Berlin. callas software, a leading provider of automated PDF quality assurance and archiving solutions, is once again serving as a Gold Sponsor of the PDF Days. This year, the PDF Days will take place from September 27 to October 25—entirely online, rather than in a hybrid format as originally planned.
During this time, Dietrich von Seggern, Managing Director at callas software GmbH, and the rest of his team will be sharing their expertise with attendees, particularly when it comes to archiving emails using PDF. Presentations will address PDF professionals, developers and product managers on one hand, and end users on the other.
During the Technical Days, Dietrich von Seggern will provide an overview of the latest discourse and developments surrounding interoperable email archiving. This will be on October 4 at 5:00 PM. As he explains: “Since there is no standardized email file format, email clients use a wide range of different formats instead. This raises a lot of questions when it comes to archiving emails. We’ll get to the bottom of these in our interactive presentation.”
During the Solution Days, callas software will first host an event on October 20 at 4:00 PM, explaining how to easily convert emails and their attachments to PDF/A using pdfaPilot, and how to archive these files afterward. Then, on October 21 at 4:30 PM, there will be a practical comparison of the various different versions of the PDF/A standard. This will include a demonstration by callas software, converting PDF files to PDF/A-1 and PDF/A-2. callas will show when and why PDF/A-2 is the better choice, and whether the recently published PDF/A-4 standard offers any additional benefits.
